Black Screen on PC Startup Only Mouse Cursor Works (Windows 8.1)

Hello, I've been experiencing issues with my PC lately.
When I turn it on the screen is black and only the mouse cursor shows up on screen, disappearing after a few seconds and some underscores flash in the bottom left of the screen every so often. 

I have only started having this issue since I updated my Nvidia graphics card drivers and then restarted the sytem.
Everything worked absolutely fine previously and some help would be much appreciated.

For a better understanding of the startup issue, I would need more information from your end.
1.
What is the make and model of the computer?
2.
Where did you install the NVidia graphics card drivers from?

I would suggest you to boot the computer to safe mode and check if the issue occurs or not.
If the issue does not occur in Safe mode, you may try to uninstall the recently installed Nvidia driver from Safe Mode.

NVidia driver and check if you can boot the computer normally.

d) Right-click on the NVidia driver, click on
Uninstall.
e) Restart the computer and try to boot the computer normally.
