so, i've been battling with .net framework for over a year - it's fully wreaked havoc on a few programs and throws an error every 10 minutes; and i haven't been able to reinstall it (w/o it crashing).

but someone pointed out a different link/package for 4.0 today and the install worked!

but alas, nothing still works and it's still throwing errors every 10 minutes.

i chose "repair" from the Control Panel.
nothing.

then tried re-installing 1, 2, then 3, but i get up to 3 and it won't install cuz "there's a newer version on this computer".

any ideas?
