How to Resolve - Automatic shut down?

Automatic shut down

I was using Vista and have upgraded to 7 - before upgrade, I would turn on my computer and within 5-10 minutes I would get booted out and have to reboot - happened recently within 3 months.  No indication of why.  The problem continues now with 7 as well?
Sometimes when I try to reboot, won't allow, and have to try couple of time.  Once rebooted, problem does not occur.  Tried leaving PC on but happens eventually again.  Any suggestions on what might be happening and how to fix?
